Soka's 80th anniversary has come and gone! Omg... I think this really was the best Christmas that I've spent in my entire life!!! It really was great being part of the green SD/FD group and getting high with everyone around me. Towards 2017 and 2030 together everyone!!!!!!

A lot of things have happened these hols but as usual I'm really too lazy to pen down everything, so I shall just blog about whatever that comes to mind.

Had my first round of ICT this hols. It was really very very slack and I'm very thankful that I have been posted to this unit as a cyberwarrior. And it's great that I have a great group of ns men in my team that we can talk cock and get along really well. Apart from the fact that it wasted my time, I think my first round of ICT went pretty well! =D

Next came the MOE scholar seminar on public policy making. It was quite boring but I particularly enjoyed the talk with the principal of Teck Whye Secondary. He was a really engaging and charismatic man who was able to talk and engage his audience very well. Learnt a lot from him. And I think the group at my table was by far the most engaging and entertaining group out of all the 10 groups in the entire seminar. How often do you get a group that can talk intelligently and talk cock at the same time? XD But one thing I couldn't stand was that some of the scholars that aired their views at the seminar seemed to have this common mindset, which was shown in the way they asked questions. "As most of us here are not from neighbourhood schools, we might have some problems adjusting to neighbourhood schools when we are posted there." Like what the f*** is that supposed to mean? What do you mean by 'most of us are not from neighbourhood schools'. If you took GP in jc, this fallacy would be what we call a 'sweeping generalisation'! $%@$#!%@#!

Apart from that, also went for the asd chalet. Surprisingly i could still click with most of the ppl there and we had a really good discussion between the YMDs and YWDs on the first night, which I found to be quite illuminating. Hahaha. It was also quite something to receive my results on the last day of the chalet. I even got Dixon to read my results out to me one by one when I finally received my result via sms. >.< eh you can't blame me right. one whole sem's worth of effort is condensed into one sms. it's really too much for me to take it all in at one shot. hahahaha. but i'm really super hyper duper grateful to Gohonzon that I'm able to retain my 2nd upper class CAP score and even managed to push it up a little. Really very very thankful le, especially since I've been predicting for almost the entire semester that my cap would drop this sem. Really very very grateful.

And for now, I need to go crack my head over scores for the band. Need to rush out the scores for the band by next week and Craig and Ian have yet to confirm their pieces with me yet. >.< Hope I'll survive.

And finally, bidding is starting this week! I want my Jap 3 and SSS!!!! RAWR!!!

Suddenly felt like blogging, so here i am...

These hols really have been so busy. came back from asd chalet, learning so much more abt asd, the good and the bad. but it really felt GREAT to b wif my dear asd again! damn shagg when i came home. napped for 3 hrs but apparently wasn't enuff, even after a good night's sleep later on that night. oh well, can't be blamed. i only slept 6 hours over 3d2n XD

Today went for my moe seminar. Thought it'd be super boring and it mainly was, but i'm really thankful for the wonderful group that was at my table and i was really happy and impressed that we could talk intelligent stuff and talk cock at the same time! looking forward to day 2 tomorrow. woohoo!!!

Just came back from nussd dmkk. great to see yu siang, wei han and jia xin finally appear again after so long. learnt the dance and cheers for the sis performance. ok la, learnt the dance before le, so was quite easy for me today.

And everyone's been talking about results recently, since yesterday was results day for nus. i'm really very very thankful for my result, considering i managed to maintain my cap score and even managed to push it up a little bit, especially since i got a B- for my cm2101. but that mod i nv get C i super thankful le, so no complaints. =)

And lastly, my 'Invisible Armour' is finally taking shape!!!!! can't wait for the full version to be out! must make sure i record the full song before nic rao flies back to perth. hahaha. i think this must be a record. a song that took more than a year to fully materialise. lolz!

so still got plenty of things to look forward to! YAY!!! =D

hope you'll get to listen to my 'Invisible Armour'. =)

Amazingly, people do actually still pop by this page in hopes of reading a new entry. To all ye few yet faithful, here's a new entry to reward you, after all these weeks.

I don't know what I should feel towards these holidays. It feels like everything's been planned out for me and I hardly have the time to really do what I want to do. After exams ended, I headed almost immediately for Australia, which, to be honest, I didn't really enjoy. Quite sad. And this week, I'm rushing to print scores for next week's band prac and almost driving myself crazy over the scores, as usual. My first round of ICT is coming up next week =S burn up a whole week of my holidays and end up I can't go for band camp T_T Kaiyi's wedding will come up immediately after that. Because of Kaiyi's wedding, can't go for SIS training and NUSSD institution mtg (not blaming you gal, it's great you're getting married!). Then after that, going for ASD chalet and the dreaded results day falls on the last day of ASD chalet. I must remain strong!!! Lolz... SIS celebration on X'mas Day and 4D1'04 chalet on 7-9 Jan.

Why did I type out my entire schedule on blogspot? Shouldn't it be done on my iCal? LOLZ!

I need to cherish whatever time I have this week. Chionging attendance for institution meeting and scores for wind sym at the same time is really not an easy task. Though having said that, it doesn't mean all work and no play. Catching a movie with Tuan Kiak tomorrow! Super long time never watch movie le.

Sinyee actually asked me to give her Japanese tuition. And the craziest thing is, I actually agreed! Omg, my jap dunno how long never touch liaoz. Hopefully I can still recall enough to teach her. She said she just needs someone to discipline her into revising her jap la. Hopefully that's true =P ちょっと 緊張してる。

I'm really happy that my crime fiction got an A-! Haha! Ok la, to be honest, I was a tad disappointed because I honestly was hoping for an A. But one must be grateful. I honestly hope this will be the first and last time I write 15 pages alone for the rest of my life in NUS, with the exception of my FYP thesis. Lolz!!! To all who are interested, do lemme know and I'll drop you a soft copy of my story.

Gotten myself hooked on "The Big Bang Theory" recently. That show is HILARIOUS!!! I caught 2 episodes of it in Australia and I've been hooked on it ever since. Trying to get glimpses of what I can on youtube. A bit lazy to find the full episodes =P Sheldon rocks!!!! HAHAHA!!!

Ok, shall stop here today. See you guys again many weeks later! XD

You must jiayou too! Will be rooting for you with daimoku. =)

Couldn't think of anywhere else i could scream at, so i'm back here after more than 2 months. pretty sure nobody checks back here anymore, so i guess it should be safe to just unleash everything that's been plugged up inside me.

Why do NUS Chemistry students have to do soooooooo many lab reports? 1 per week is fine but when the deadline is delayed due to content not covered yet, they all crash together and in short, simply f*** my life upside down. I could be spending that precious time doing revision for my other modules, to write my crime fiction, to all sorts of important things...... no i've got to waste my time doing all these USELESS LAB REPORTS!!!! Not as if the TAs really do read what I write. Tick tick tick tick tick... As if everything I write there is correct like that =S

I'm really running very short of time now. Despite that, I'm still blogging now because I really need to unleash the stress that I've been feeling. And anyway, I feel that I've got a bit of time now since I've finished 1 lab report ahead of time, so I have a couple of minutes to spare to unwind before I really go crazy. I really lack a lot of practice for a lot of modules. I think worst is analytical chem... I'm only good in separation science and that's only cuz i taught it last holidays at NUS High. Thank goodness for that. I'm 3 weeks away from exams and I'm only this prepared? gg liaoz...

And as if to rub sand into my wounds, I have an inorg test coming up next week, and 3 tests the following week. Somebody please tell me how i'm supposed to survive that week? And how am I ever going to find enough time to revise?

And to cap it all off, I'm missing you. Yes YOU!!!! I don't care whether you know or not but the bare, naked truth is I REALLY MISS YOU!!!! SO SO SO MUCH!!!! i can't show it... but it really hurts inside... gnawing away inside of me... bit by bit by bit... drowning myself in work doesn't help sometimes... i still think of you... you appear in my mind... in my notes... everywhere!!! it's tough for me to hold it in...

I don't have the looks
I don't have the money
I don't have the charm
I don't have the good fortune
But I do know that all I want to do is to love you, protect you, shield you...

Okok, due to complaints about my blog becoming dead, I shall, at long last, update my blog.

Well, so many things have been happening in my life that I really haven't had the mood to blog. Ok, so let's see. What's been happening?

Firstly, relief teaching. To all teachers and teachers-to-be, if any of you have the illusion that teaching in an independent school is an easy thing, please WAKE UP YOUR IDEA!!!!! I, for one, really miss teaching in a mainstream school after having taught in both. The workload in a mainstream school was easier, at least for me. Ok, for those of you who still have no idea what I'm talking about, I did relief teaching at the beginning of term 3 at NUS High School for 6 weeks. Dear Mr. Murali arrowed me a year 3 and year 6 module to teach. Year 3 module was organic chemistry, which was fine, since it really was quite easy, content-wise. The shitty thing about this module is the amount of marking I have to do and the number of meetings I have to attend. In NUS High School, the system pretty much follows the poly and uni system, meaning every module counts towards their final score. So I can't be too strict about my marking and I have to discuss with my other teachers for this module on how I should mark their worksheets, practicals and tests and make sure everything is as close as possible.

The year 6 module was more of a bitch, because I was teaching separation science, something I'm only learning this semester. So it was a crash course with Mr. Murali in the HOD room before I went into my year 6 classes to teach. And students there don't simply accept what you say in the classroom. After going through every other statement on my ppt slides, somebody will raise their hand and question me on what I'm teaching. Ok la, I shouldn't complain. It was really good training for me and cmon, where else can you get free uni tuition like this? Hahaha... Oh and don't be shocked, I'm not kidding. Year 6 students are learning what I'm learning now in NUS Year 2 Chemistry.

But despite all this, I still love my students, especially my year 3s. Maybe because I was too nice to them la. XD

Next, YOG!!! The final performance yesterday was just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! SSA's "Playing with Fire, Pushing the Limit" item was just amazing!!!! The dragon head successfully moved up the ramp and the pyros all went off amazingly well!!! We really did Sensei proud!!! Photos will be up soon, I promise!!!!

Ok, that's all for now. Band ex-co meeting later. On a Sunday! =S =P

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

just realised i haven't blogged for nearly a month. i need somewhere to vent my feelings and here seems the perfect place to do it.

i really don't know how i'm going to pull up my CAP for this semester. i only have 3.9 from last sem and this sem doesn't look like it's going to do me any favours. organic chem sucked. lsm1401 sucked. and to top it off, today's inorg chem sucked too! woohoo! hat-trick! how in the world am i going to pull up my cap to a second-upper CAP? 4.0 really seems to be getting further and further away from me.

i really don't want to sink below all this negativity but sometimes it really just seems so hard for me =( i still have my genes and society and japanese to go. i need to ace these 2 papers if i'm to salvage what's left of the wreck that i've caused for this semester.

low life condition now, though i really have been chanting hard to elevate it.

あなたが 大好きだけど、何もできない。私は 自分で 角に しか泣けない。

Ok, so SYM has finally ended in a wave of joy, tears and hugs. Shall not talk more about it here since I've more than expressed my feelings on Facebook, so do visit my Facebook for details =P

Today got to know the average score for Japanese 2. It's about 36. I, standing at 41, am only slightly above average, meaning if I continue at this rate, I will kiss my A goodbye. I need and want my A for Jap! This test has finally given me the slap that I need to realise that having background and liking Jap is NOT ENOUGH!!! I MUST PUT IN MORE ELBOW GREASE TO GET MY A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to closing ceremony this Friday!!!!!!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE ALL MY FELLOW SYM COMRADES AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Ok, I've just gotten back my Jap mid-term test paper and I'm totally disappointed with the result I got. Zzz... 41/50. Okok, I know it looks like a good score but I was expecting 45 and above. Really disappointed with my reading comprehension. Can't believe I answered the question in Japanese better than the one I answered in English. Looks like I can't continue being so slack about my Japanese anymore. But I don't know how I can improve on it. I mean, I maxed out grammar and vocabulary. It was mainly my listening and reading comprehension that pulled me down. Oh man, really disgusted with myself.

SYM is also drawing to an end. Looks like I missed out all the fun at the last rehearsal... ='( X 10000000... But I mustn't feel sad... This is NOT THE END!!! It's the dawn of a new beginning!!! Will pump in my best for the last 3 shows that I have!

As SYM draws to a close... what do I see before me?

Monday, March 15, 2010

Today marks the end of the first four shows for the English cast of SYM 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy that we were able to move so many people in the audience to tears and I really really love the fact that we are so bonded together and can chiong all the way! How I wish we had SYM everyday!!!

Kudos to Chia Ling and Yu Siang for coming down despite the rain and I really hope you all enjoyed the show, though, as Chia Ling said, my part was a bit short. But I'm not the main focus!!! The main focus is that you all enjoyed the show and understand a little bit more about Soka... =DD

Really don't feel like going to school tomorrow. Would I be in the mood to listen to Lam Yulin and John Yip? I highly doubt. Lolz.

ゆっくり 休むよ。心配 させないで。好きだよ。

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Today was our very first SYM performance!!!!!!!!!!!! I think the ENglish cast did quite well, cuz we received quite a number of congratulatory msgs from encouraged people and I think that, save for a few hiccups here and there, we did pretty well too! And I'm sure we can go on to do even better tomorrow!!!!

Just rushed through my LSM1401 online assessment. Got a really shitty score for it. Dun really care at the moment, since it's only participation marks. I just need to clear it at the moment and go back to revise it later on in the semester, albeit there isn't much of the semester left >.<

Blogging from Jeng Khit's house now. His parents don't seem very pleased that I'm around. =P

Why are you avoiding me? Why are you giving me the cold shoulder? Do you have any idea how much you're hurting me by doing so? Why send me to heaven and fling me back down to Earth again so sharply?

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

I think the first thing i definitely want to blog about today is that I saw my brother for the first time in a week even though we live under the same roof. For the whole of last week, he leaves the house before i do and i always only return home after he goes to bed. Sad, isn't it? Haha, I think I really need to spend more time with my family once SYM is over...

Inorg chem test on Thurs and I have rehearsal tomorrow nite... Or rather, tonite.... Never challenged myself to this kind of extent before... It's really tiring... How will I survive 12 shows? But no matter what, I MUST AND WILL SUCCEED!!!!!!!

あなたと きょうだい に なりたくないよ。あなたのかれ に ないたい。本当に なりたいだよ。でも、永遠に ぜんぜん しらない。

Sunday, March 07, 2010

Just came back from SYM rehearsal. LOVED IT! Today's rehearsal was a great improvement from last week's. And although I'm really very happy that the directors told me that Joseph and I have greatly improved, I'm not too sure what I've improved on =P... I think it's the small things that I've been changing which I think are somewhat insignificant that are slowly coming into play ba... hahahaha... another rehearsal tmr to breakthrough... I WILL SUCCEED!!!

On the other hand, I'm really struggling to balance school work and band with SYM. Next week got Genes and Soc brochure due, CM1111 mid-term test and Jap quiz to prepare for, as well as first few shows of SYM coming up. Please let me know how I manage to get through this, if i do. Haha...

Ok back to work. Signing off. ^_^

I don't care what happens in future. All I care about is that I treasure every moment I have now and savour it to the maximum.

Wednesday, March 03, 2010

Yes, yes it's 2am+ now and I should be sleeping, which I will soon, esp since I'm really feeling v v slpy... But in order to satisfy my regulars, I shall blog a little now.

Went for SYM studio recording today. SO COOL!!! First time doing studio recording. The feeling was really different and I really enjoyed myself with my fellow cast from S10. Great job guys!!!

Sigh, as I've said on my fb status, I'm completely booked from Tuesday to Sunday this week. No time to do tutorials, assignments or revision. In other words, I'm pretty much screwed. Jap mid-term today was still not too bad. Hopefully, I can get at least 45/50. But I have like zero confidence in CM1111 and CM1121. I need to squeeze out time to STUDY!!!!!!!

今日は テストを受ける時 あなた と おもった を 知ってる?

Monday, February 22, 2010

Ok, I'm feeling kinda tired now but I think I'll blog a little now. Central library is so comfortable, hahaha.

Yesterday was our SYM rehearsal, the first one after CNY. The dry run was a little awkward no doubt, but I thought the actual run was pretty good, just that we screwed up the fan dance REAL BAD. =P And I think Shi-li reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaallllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy took my words to heart. She didn't have enough chemistry with Lionel at first but after my teasing and advice, the directors said they had very good chemistry, to the extent they seemed to be whispering sweet-nothings to each other rather than speaking at one point. Hahaha! Ok, can't post any pictures here cuz it'll spoil the show. =P

Today has been a real drag too. LT27's aircon was either spoiled or not turned on. Jap tutorial TA didn't go well AT ALL. It's funny that I should keep stumbling in Morita sensei's class. Urgh. Gotta chiong CM1111 tutorial when I get home later. Gonna see dear Sreenivas tomorrow. *roll eyes. Lots of things to prepare for Jap as well... Gotta read up Practical 2 for LSM1401... HOW AM I EVER GONNA CLEAR THIS MOUNTAIN LOAD OF WORK?

Yes, I still feel disappointed. Very, in fact. Do you need to know? Guess not.

Sunday, February 21, 2010

If there really was nothing inside me the whole time, then why do I feel so disappointed?

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

With that, Chinese New Year 2010 is officially over. Surprisingly, this year's visit to my paternal grandmother's house was a better than expected one. My cousins and I had a great time talking crap with each other, as we always do. It's really a shame that we only meet up once a year. My grandmother told me to bring my girlfriend to see her when I have one. I told her she had a long way to wait. Hahahaha! I love my grandmother so so so so so much la. She's such a caregiver. Throughout the entire day I see her doing nothing but walking around doing this that and the other, to the extent that I have to shout at her to get her to sit down and eat something. I really love her so much. ^_^ Well, I wasn't kidding when I said I was going to bring my girlfriend to meet her when I actually get one. I'd probably tell her before I tell my mum. =P

I've been totally unproductive so far in my recess week. I'm supposed to be catching up on revision, plenty of it, and I haven't. I have 3 mid-term tests to study for spread out over 3 weeks and I haven't started on a single one. Woohoo. Speaking of which, I set my target for this semester last month, which is another high one but hey, where's the challenge if you set too low a target yeah? So here goes...

CM1111 - Basic Inorganic Chemistry: A-
CM1121 - Basic Organic Chemistry: A
LSM1401 - Fundamentals of Biochemistry: A-
LSM1302 - Genes and Society: A
LAJ2201 - Japanese 2: A+

Average CAP this semester: 4.8
Average CAP: 4.35

Sure looks ambitious, doesn't it? I refuse to set a target anything lower than an A for my CM1121, which is my organic chem because organic chem happens to be the reason I got my A for my 'A' level Chemistry and I refuse to let that fact change now, despite the horribly difficult content which I have to memorise and familiarise in a matter of weeks. Genes and society is also important to me, as a large chunk of it (Prof. Hong's part) was 'A' Level Biology and I recall most of it. The newer part, the one Prof. Sawada is teaching now and what the last lecturer will teach, will irritate me a little more, but I think I should be able to handle most of that pretty well, especially since I find Prof. Sawada's explanations clear, albeit his accent does require a little fathoming. Hahaha. As for my LAJ2201, I really will take it personally if I don't get this grade for it. What would I have studied for for the past years if I don't get it?

As such, I have high hopes for this semester because it's the first semester when I've been able to pick modules that I love AND am capable of scoring. Usually, one comes without the other. Look at last semester. I slept in Dr. Lee's class half the time but I scraped an A- for his GEK1535. I went for all of Connie's lectures and a majority of Macro lectures and what did I get? B. See what I mean about one not coming with the other? I really like my electives and, amazingly, my core mods, this semester. But liking them isn't going to be enough for me to get the results I want. I really need to get my ass moving. zzzz...

Ok, going to SYC to make the souvenirs for the SUJ students tomorrow. They're coming next week! SO EXCITING!!! Finally gonna be able to practise my 日本語 again!

I wonder what would happen if Cupid got shot by one of his own arrows...

Friday, February 12, 2010

The recess week has come!!! I guess recess week this semester is better than last semester, even though my CNY break has been eaten up as NUS combined it with recess week. But at least I don't have exams crowding up the week immediately after recess week, thank goodness... Really must study my ass off during recess week. So much to catch up on. Surprisingly, my weakest module now is my LSM1401. Eugene was right about having to shade the bubble form for LSM1401 with two pencils at once. I can't imagine how I'm going to solve Prof. Seow's questions at the rate of 2 minutes per question.

Been thinking about relationship problems quite a bit these few days, both my own and of others. Sometimes I wish this part of life wasn't so complicated. Doesn't everybody want to love and be loved? Lolz. Now that I look back at all the advice I've given to friends so far, I wonder if any of it was useful, considering I have like zero experience in it. Lolz, is this the effect of Valentine's Day nearing? Ok fine, I won't deny that I want a partner in my life too, especially when I see happy couples sashay past me. But now that I seriously think about it, sometimes being single isn't all that bad too, I guess. Hahaha. And no, it is NOT sour grapes. =P

Supposed to be going out to meet NUSSD for KTV later at 10pm but I'm still blogging. Oh well. ^_^

Can't help but look forward to next SYM rehearsal. Can CNY pass faster so that SYM rehearsal can come faster? LOLZ!!! But then again, once SYM rehearsal comes, it'll signal the end of recess week and the onslaught of mid-terms. Whee. Lolz. Talk about being in two minds.

I will open the path for humanity, for you and for me...

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Ok, thanks to Dad's loan of the car, I've managed to come home a bit earlier than usual from sectionals, hence I've got the time to blog. Haven't had time to blog at all on Monday and Tuesday considering I had to rush my Genes and Society assignment on Monday and my lab report on Tuesday. Really heaved a sigh of relief when today ended. Really has been so tiring. Hope my future sems won't be like this.

I find myself looking forward more to SYM rehearsals than Chinese New Year! Omg, really can't stand being away from those people for sooooooooooooo long!!! It's so much more interesting now that most of our lines have tunes to it. For some reason, I've been humming Lynette's part for the past few days non-stop. Why? Is her part very catchy? I need to hum my own part, for heaven's sake. I'm really looking forward to the part where Lionel and Shi-li have their duet. I think if they memorise their lines properly I think it's going to look and sound incredible! It's sad that SYM is going to be over so soon... Barely one month plus... Just when I was getting to know all those people from TPSD too... They're really an incredible bunch of people and it's them that have made me not mind so much that most of ASD and NUSSD are in the chinese cast while I'm in the english cast...

あなた が だんだん好きに なっていると 思う。時々、あなたは 僕と 思っているかな?

Sunday, February 07, 2010

First post in a week. Hmm...

I'm starting to feel really bad. I'm supposedly a senior but I can't seem to figure this one particular junior out. He's really a very important junior and friend in my life but I seem to be only seeing one side of him, as do many around him. I really want the best for him but I don't know how I should guide him. He's one of those who've left a footprint in my heart and I really really want to help but what can I do? Well, of course there's plenty I can do but what should I do? I'm really at a loss... I hate feeling this helpless...

My life condition has been spiralling downwards again. Has been since the beginning of this semester. What the heck is wrong with me? Where has all my fighting spirit gone to? I'm not putting any effort into my studies, I'm letting YouTube take over my life, I'm reproaching myself for things that aren't as bad as they seem or aren't really my fault. What the hell is going on with me? I don't have time for this! It's already week 5!

On the other hand, I signed myself up as a YOG volunteer to help out with the overseas athletes who are coming over in August. The problem is, I have to commit myself to it for 3 weeks in August, when term has already started, for three whole weeks. And by that, it also means no school. Wonder if they'll still pick me when they know about that. I'm really keen on this, especially since this will be a wonderful chance for me to practise my Japanese again and I have a good feeling it's going to improve by leaps and bounds because unlike those who come over from Soka University of Japan, these guys are going to be a little less well-versed in English, meaning I'm going to have to speak in Japanese most of the time, that is, if I do get the job.

たくさん問題 があるのが 大嫌い!僕の頭と心が すごく痛い。それから、かのじょがいたら、僕の頭と心は もっと よく なると 思う。馬鹿ね?

Monday, February 01, 2010

Ok, chialing's been bugging me to blog again. Blogging in John Yip's lecture. He's useless in teaching CM1111. Period. Nvm his accent but can he like at least talk a bit louder into the mike? If he continues like this, the only way I'm going to be able to hear him is with a stethoscope!

My jap homework is due in 3.5 hours and it's still nice and blank. My CM1111 tutorial is due tomorrow and it's still nice and blank. My CM1121 lab report is due this Wednesday and it's barely half done. Why am I doing this to myself?

Have I really gotten so used to holiday life that I'm totally unwilling to get my ass moving? It's already the start of week 4.

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Why am I blogging at this kind of time when I need to wake up early tomorrow? Haiz. This week is supposed to be my slack week. The last one I'm going to see for some time to come. Omg. I really DON'T WANT tutorials to start!!!!!!!

I'm lagging behind in work already. CM1121 tutorial is waiting for me and so is my Japanese vocab. Blogged about it yesterday and I'm bitching about it again today, i.e. it's still untouched. I really need to get my lazy ass moving.

I tried doing my Genes and Society assessment yesterday. To my utmost horror, I couldn't answer some of the MCQ questions in the assessment! HELLO, THIS IS A LEVEL BIO!!! Why can't I answer everything? I need my A for this module and somehow, I can't see it at the moment. Urgh.

Went for SEP talk today. I think I see a ray of hope in my SEP to Japan. I WILL WIN!

I'm tired...

時々 あなた と思っているよ。でも あなたは 知っては いけないよ。僕だけ しってもいいだよ。

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Ok, I should be sleeping now because I have to get up early tomorrow to be punctual for my SEP talk but honest-to-goodness, I really don't feel like going but I'm afraid I'll miss out on important stuff so I will do my best to wake up early tomorrow morning despite it meaning that I'm going to wake up early this entire weekend. Woots.

Ok, so the nightmare of tutorial registration has finally ended after much drama in LT27. Lolz. Got my 8A and 8B slot, which is 3-4pm on Tuesdays. Obviously not the slots that were on top of my list but still, it's not too bad. At least my Wednesdays are still completely free for lab. No rushing here there everywhere for tutorials, lectures and whatnot. Speaking of which, I've read through the CM1121 lab manual and I have absolutely no idea whatsoever as to how I'm going to carry out those experiments. Though I suppose that problem will prove to be nothing when compared to the lab reports I'm going to have to rush after that. URGH!!!

Funny how my life condition seems to be rather low these 2 weeks. I haven't been exerting myself hard enough. I think Derui's going to be disappointed.

I really cannot afford to be complacent this semester! How many times do I have to tell myself that? My arrogance is really resurfacing and I really need to push it back down. But sometimes I really can't help it. LSM1401 and LSM1302 are essentially teaching the same thing now, which I've already learnt back in JC. But the funniest thing is, I can't seem to solve all the problems set by the lecturers. In fact, I've got most of the questions set by Prof. Seow for LSM1401 wrong. It's a sign.

I was supposed to have completed my CM1121 tutorial and memorise my Japanese vocab tonight, none of which I've done, all thanks to Piper, Phoebe and Paige. Yes, I've been watching Charmed on YouTube. All those episodes that I missed. I love the sarcasm and language they use in it, as well as Alyssa Milano ;)

SEP talk, SYM training and district zadankai... Loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg day waiting for me tomorrow... Ciaoz...

Ok, today history has re-enacted itself. Rushing for hogging of Chemistry tutorials is really no joke, especially when it opens at 11am and your damned computer chooses to lag or hang at 10.58am. Really will cry. So I got neither 1A nor 1B, so in the end had to settle for 8A and 8B, Tuesday 3-4pm, which I guess I don't mind la. I initially wanted 7A and 7B but that would have meant rushing down from FASS immediately after Jap and Saito Sensei likes to drag her lectures, so I guess I shouldn't risk it ba. I'm a little peeved cuz I have to rush to LT32 for genes and soc after my tutorial, which I really don't like cuz tutorials usually end on time, meaning I gotta run to LT32. Thank goodness the lecturer usually doesn't start on time.

As for my Jap tutorials, I got 2 out of 3 slots that I wanted, which I suppose is good fortune, considering these 2 slots that I got are die die must get de, otherwise sure die that kind. My Friday one isn't all that good because it's from 12-1pm, which means I gotta rush to FASS immediately after LSM1401 with Prof. Seow and according to Chia Ling, he sometimes ends late, which means I gotta leave early. =.= hello webcast... This also means I have to miss a large part of Friday lunch. SIANZ!

I still haven't got the momentum to study. I really don't! Even though this is already the second week and I'm supposed to start preparing for tutorials, I haven't started on anything. I really need to get my engine started le. I promised myself I'd push my CAP up to a second upper class this sem. I WILL NOT SHORTCHANGE MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!

SYM training this weekend. Looking forward to it!!! でも あなたには 会えないよ。残念ね。

It's been another short break since I last blogged. Listening to Scar of Time now... Thinking of something... and someone...

School's been really boring so far. I don't know how I'm going to keep my interest in organic chem if this is the way my lecturer is going to keep teaching. I'm really getting bored to tears in her lectures, even though, according to Eugene, she's supposed to be one of the better lecturers in the Chemistry department who teaches higher level modules. Oh well...

Band has also been a challenge. Having Craig sitting beside me is really a stressful thing, especially when you hear how well he plays. It just makes me feel ashamed to say that I've been playing the flute for 6 years. Urgh. And it doesn't help that the standard of the pieces compound my problem now. Haiz.

I love listening to flute pieces. Makes me feel so at peace with myself, even when I'm emoing. I like it when I have these few minutes just for me, myself and I. Helps me detach myself from everything I'm doing and pull myself together.

SD Kenshu daimokukai tomorrow at TSC 9am. I should sleep soon.

どうしって いつも あなた と思っているかな?速く 止めなきゃ いけないよ。でも、僕の心は 止めたいかな?次の会いで すっかり 止めて忘れるかもしれないね。

It's been another hectic day on the IVLE. Met Sok Koon and Chia Ling at 8.30am at Frontier today to snatch the CM1111 lab slot. I think now I can fully appreciate what NTU students go through when they are fighting for their modules. The hot slots taken up jumps from 0 to 75 in, like, 3 seconds. =.=

I think I like Tuesday lectures best of all. LSM1401 and LAJ2201. For LSM1401, I think Prof. Seow has the clearest and most normal accent of all my lecturers for my core modules. His sense of humour is not bad too. Really want to make sure I score for my LSM1401, especially since I think the content is not difficult. What is difficult for this module I think will be the application questions that he will set in his examinations ba. A standard similar to what Prof. Chew set for MA1421 mid-term test back in sem 1. >.< As for LAJ2201, Saito sensei really talks very quickly. It's a good thing I have background beyond what she teaches, otherwise I doubt students can catch 100% of what she's saying. Furthermore, the way she teaches the て-form isn't really all that effective. Or maybe it's because I've been with Bunka for so long already, that's why I prefer their method of teaching. Though honestly, I really don't think how anybody actually listening to Saito sensei teaching it for the first time can understand the lecture completely, even if they've done their prep studies before coming for lecture.

Went to Arts canteen with Billy, Sok Koon, Yu Siang, Yong Qiang and Yihuang after Jap class today. Didn't know Yihuang was taking Changing Landscapes with Yong Qiang, Yu Siang and Sok Koon. Wish them joy of it. The only time you'll catch me taking a Geography-based module will be over my dead body. Had a good, long chat with them while waiting for Jia Liang and Jiahao to give me their confirmation on whether we were meeting Yihao or not. After spending nearly 2 hours in the Arts canteen, I ended up not having to meet them. A bit =.= but nvm la, since I had a good time chatting with them anyway.

Tomorrow's a free day! WOOHOO!!! Though it won't be for long, since I'll be starting lab in week 3. Lab reports again... Sigh...

Ok people, after waiting for so long, I'm finally going to write my first post for 2010~!!!!

So sorry for making all my die-hard fans wait this long for this post because I really have had zero motivation to blog about anything since I came back from Taiwan.

Right, so what about my Taiwan trip? To be honest, I wasn't really terribly thrilled while I was there. It just sucks big time when you fall sick on the very first day of your trip there and have to f***ing tolerate the nose goo that drips out of your nose every other minute together with the incredible sore throat that usually comes with it. *roll eyes... But I do think Taiwan is a place worth visiting though. For those who don't know, Taiwan is a country that literally rose from the beneath the sea, something I learnt on my trip there. The travelling between the different parts of Taiwan was nothing short of terrible, especially when you're travelling along the mountains along this narrow road and on your left are the mountains and on the right is the Pacific Ocean. No such thing as proper fencing to prevent your vehicle from toppling over. If you topple over, that's it. But the view of the Pacific Ocean is really nothing short of magnificent. It looks really clean and beautiful and the way the water sparkles as the sun rays hit it just adds to its grandeur. Nothing like the miserable beaches we have here in Singapore. Honestly, as a Singaporean, I'm ashamed of the water in our beaches. As for shopping in Taiwan, the night markets in Taiwan are really an eye-opener. Nothing like the pasar malams we have here either. I really wanted to try the chicken chop at the Shihlin night market but the queue was long enough to span half an MRT station, so I gave up on that. The smelly tofu really smells to high heaven. You smell it before you see it. Oyster omelette I think is a little overrated. Not everywhere sells a good version of it. Can't remember where I ate good ones already, hahaha.

Ok, enough about Taiwan. Wanna know more? Go visit my fb account. All the pics are there.

Just came back from 4D1 '04 chalet today. First time we had steamboat instead of a bbq. Kept losing at mahjong over there. Haiz. Guess not everyday's a sunny day. We played Taboo twice there. Every time it came round to Kai Liang, the words that he got somehow would manage to put down yi yi de, for some reason. Hahaha. Yi Yi also damn funny la. "I'm what?" Then the replies would be "Spastic! Idiot! Stupid!" And it turned out the answer was "Cocktail" and he was trying to make us guess the first part of the word. Couldn't sleep well last night, all thanks to yi yi's snoring. Not kidding, his snoring is capable of waking the dead. =.= I really miss 4D1 loads. This year we're all turning 22 liaoz. Feels so old. Haiz.

AND I'M SUPER HAPPY THAT I MANAGED TO GET MY WAIVER FOR LAJ2201!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly felt the sensei that interviewed me was going to put me in Jap 3 lei. Was so worried about it. Haha. Ok, now it's a matter of how many pts I'm going to have to invest to get this final module for this sem.

I think my Prowler series will end here. Hopefully inspiration will come again soon, which shouldn't be difficult, considering the crazy sem that awaits me. Ciaoz.
